Education

I have been working at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Seikei University since
graduating from the Department of Mathematics of Rikkyo University. I received my
Ph. D from the Department of Information Science of Seikei University in 2001.
The title of my doctoral thesis is "Nurse Scheduling in Japan - Modeling and Solution -".

Research interests

My research interests are applications of OR and combinatorial optimization.
I am especially interested in modeling practical problems.

Awards

2008: "Finding the mimimum cost path in a railway network",
Scheduling Symposium 2007, pp.79-84, 2007.
This paper was chosen to be an excellent paper in application studies
by the Scheduling Society of Japan in 2008.

2004: "A Subproblem-centric Model and Approach to the Nurse Scheduling Problem",

This paper was given the 'excellent paper in application studies' award by the Operations
Research Society of Japan in 2004.
